In line with other great Scottish holiday parks, Blairgowrie is all about the area around it, not the park itself. Having said that, although there is none of the traditional 'Butlins' type of entertainment at the holiday park, it is nevertheless set in beautiful landscaped grounds, and for a certain type of holidaymaker, its a real find. In fact the lack of facilities adds to the tranqility and exclusive feeling of the place.
It is set in an area of oustanding natural beauty, is a short stroll away from all the amenities that you'll need, and a short drive away from enough sights and activities to fill you holiday calendar to the point where you are striking off a few options, because you can't fit them all in.
After a brisk mountain walk or leisurely forest stroll, you can head on in to Perth for some great food to set you up for a night at the theatre. In fact you might want to save the stroll or the climb for another day, as Perth has more than enough to keep you busy for a whole day. And if Perth tickles your fancy then you may want to give Dundee a go as well.
If you are trying to avoid the bright city lights then there is plenty going on in the countryside. For those of you who like to don their boots, there's ponytrekking fishing and hill-walking all within the local environs. For those who've packed their golf shoes, you're not far away fom some of the most famous golf courses in the world including Rosemount, Gleneagles, St Andrew's and Carnoustie.
For those of you who like the odd tipple there's plenty of distilleries to visit, and for those of you who like a different type of grouse, then there's the birdwatchers' favourite Loch Leven. But, whichever direction yo head off in, you are bound to bump into somewhere that will either relax, invigorate or awe you, and maybe all three.
If you fancy staying local, Blairgowrie offers a variety of bars, shops and restaurants. And while there is a lot to see in the surrounding area, for some people, a laid back town like Blairgowrie is enough to sliwly smooth qaaway the wrinkles caused by modeern living.
Overall, what Blairgowrie has is what a lot of people expect from a holiday - a lovely place to relax, easy access to good food, and if the mood takes, plenty of options for a great day out. More caravan park holidays in Scotland
