Craig Tara Holiday Park - Ayr

In contrast to the rugged nature of many of Scotland's holiday parks Craig Tara is a very warm and welcoming holiday park. It's custom built for family holidays, as everything you need to keep yourselves and the children happy is right there on site. You don't have to stay on site, but sometimes it's refreshing to give driving a break for a few days and get those legs in shape again.

Craig Tara is located on Ayreshire's famed coastline, so if you fancy getting away from the kids for ten minutes, then you can find a spot, sit down, and take in the views and sunsets over the Isle of Arran which are stunning. By the time the children have finished jumping around in one of the three free kids clubs, you'll fee like a new person.

Or if you fancy a great view with a little exercise, then head down to one of the deserted and unspoilt beaches for a gentle stroll. It's one of those areas where the beauty of the place leads people to thoughts of taking up painting or photography (at least until the reality of getting home kicks in).

Once rejuvenated there's plenty to do on site including a huge indoor pool complex, with slides, flumes and funpools. There's also an all action fun park, so the children aren't going to get bored, but you may have more than a bit of trouble getting them into the car to leave the place they'll be having so much fun.

Craig Tara is just down the road from Ayr if you fancy a bit of small city life for a day out, and there's a Farm Park next door, and a couple of castles not too far away - and not forgetting the local beaches. But, this is all if you can simply be bothered to leave the site in the first place.

Everything is in one place, and within walking distance, including a variety of food outlets and Mash and Barrel Lounge-Bar-Café. In the evening there's plenty of entertainment including Stage Shows, Comedy, and more.
