Crofthead - Ayr

Crofthead is a gentle and relaxing holiday park, and a perfect base from which to explore Scotland's glorious South West. Nestled in the countryside, but only 2 miles from the fabulous amenities of bustling Ayr, there are facilites to keep you occupied during your stay, but, most people come for the local area, and maybe to explore further.

Steeped in culture and history, this is Burns country, and there's even a Burns museum, which is worth a visit, as is the Museum of Ayrshire Country Life and Costume at Dalgarven Mill

If you are more interested in nature than culture then the beautiful and unspoilt beaches of Ayr are just around the corner, and as you are in scotland, you are never far from the great open spaces and large beautiful forests.

The area is perfect for long contemplative walks, but if you want something a bit more energetic, their are plenty of hills to climb, lochs to row, and more. If you want your walk to be a bit more of a competitive trek, then why not hire golf clubs and head to one of Ayreshire's superlative golf courses.

If you feel like being even more active, then you can get a bit of the 'Braveheart' spirit with a day out at the Scottish Paintball Centre. If you are going to shoot people with paint pellets or get stung yourself, then why not do it in beautiful surroundings. If you want to get into top gear you could head off to the quad centre and have a bit of throttle ripping action.

Crofthead is not a full on holiday park, but that's not what everyone wants anyway. If you do want a friendly relaxing base from which to exlore the local area, and if you fancy a lie inthen youu'd like to wake up to the peace of the countryside followed by a brief car ride (or cycle) to a top notch town breakfast, then Crofthead may be just the ticket..
