Glen Dochart is the ideal base for exploration of the stunning area of Perthshire, Scotland's southern jewel. If you are staying at Glen Dochart then it won't be because you're mad for onsite Cabaret, or Redcoat versions of 'Fame', it'll be because you love an active 'getting about' type of holiday.
The park is set amongst stunning scenery where you can enjoy a fantastic range of activities from a casual walk through pristine landscape, to 'heel for leather' extreme sports. From anautre lovers point of view, the area is a real find, with plent to keep ramblers, bird watchers, and naturalists busy for the duration.
If you are a bit of an angler, or fancy giving it a go, then there is Salmon and trout fishing available on the park, and of course, if you fancy getting out and about then lake your rods to one of the areas rivers or well stocked lochs. And, if you fancy a bit of sea air, then grab a boat and see what you can reel in.
Although the site is not a wealth of amenities, it does have the essentials for active holidaymakers, including a shop and launderette which are open throughout the parks seasons. If you do fancy interspersing your gadding about with a bit of shopping, then hop in the car to Perth, and while you're there, it would be a shame to miss out on all the sites the City has to offer. It would also be a shame to miss out on the city's famed cuisine too as well as maybe a visit to the theatre - it's easy to forget what fun a good stage play can be.
Outside of the holiday site there's plenty of attractions (see below), including watersports at Lochearnhead, horse riding, Rob Roy's Cave and the mines at Tyndrum - all within just 15 miles. And if you fancy traveling further afield then you 2 hours drive form the Highlands, where you can test your metal with a bit of hill-walking or maybe a bit of fell-running. Then it'll probably be a well deserved 'wee dram' after that bit of healthy exertion.
A trip to Glen Dochart and the surrounding area will have you booking early for the next year, and planning your next trip, as there's so much to do that you're unlikely to fit it in all in one go. More caravan park holidays in Scotland
