Loch Awe Holiday Park - Taynuilt

Loch Awe is set in the heart of what people envisage when they imagine the 'real Scotland'. Breathtaking scenery comprising Lochs, mountains, rivers, and a beautiful coastline. And for this reason, whilst the holiday park does have a shop and seasonal restaurant, there are not a great amount of facilities on site, as the owners know that they would be wasting their money - holidaymakers come to the area to make the most of its natural beauty, not play table billiards - unless it's with the accompaniment of a well earned 'hot toddy' after a days fell walking.

If you do fancy a bit of culture, there is the nearby town of Oban, and plenty of seaside villages where you can take in a bit of sea air, and then head inland for maybe a caste or two.

For those with an exceptionally energetic disposition, Ben Nevis is a short drive away, although probably not advisable in the winter months. But, if you're looking for a more relaxing break there are numerous walks, river and sea fishing.

If you fancy something in between, there are various opportunities for climbing, golf and pony trekking, cycling and waling, and wildlife viewing and fishing activities are in abundance throughout the area.

For history and culture lovers you'll find yourself in the birthplace of early Gaelic culture, and for horticulturists there's plenty of gardens to visit.
