Lochgoilhead - Argyll

Lochgoilhead is a great balance between a holiday park that's a location for great outdoor sights and activities, with a great source of evening entertainment and facilities thrown in to boot. Not only that, just a mile away is a small village which has a tennis court, and pony trekking which is one of the best ways to see the experience the local area.

The site overlooks Loch Goil, where there is free fishing, and is situated in the midst of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This is a superb area for walks, ranging from easy loch side and forest walks to more challenging treks in the nearby Arrochar Alps. For the more energetic there are a number of peaks over 3000ft. If that's a bit much, then there are a number of conveniently accessible and marked forest trails.

If you fancy a bit of pampering, then why not take advantage of the hairdressing and beauty treatments on offer before sitting down to a proper meal in the impressive Drimsynie House Hotel next door. You can follow the meal with a mid week disco/karaoke during the main holiday periods, and throughout the year there is a Saturday night dinner dance (except July and August).

As this is Scotland there is a golf course right on your doorstep, and there are plenty of historic lankmarks in the area if you feel like a day of sightseeing - in fact the area of Argyll has a wealth of visitor attractions including castles, parks, gardens and picturesque villages.

If chocolate tickles your fancy, then you are not too far from the Oban Chocolate company, and of course, if you fancy the odd dram of whisky then it would be criminal not to visit the distillery. All in all, a lovely location with plenty to do! More caravan park holidays in Scotland
